Autumn and Spring seasons in Nepal are regarded to be the short Everest Base Camp trek best seasons. In September, October, and November, the autumn season observes a clear sky without haze and cloud, making it ideal for spectacular vistas of mountains. Spring seasons in March, April, and May are characterized by dry weather with blooming rhododendrons amplifying the ambiance in the Khumbu region.
Although it is possible to trek in December, January, and February months, the weather is very cold, with a temperature drop to -30 degrees Celsius at night. You might also experience snowfalls making the trail slippery. Monsoon season in June, July, and August is the most undesirable trekking time in Everest because the mountain weather changes drastically. Chances of rainfall and snow are high, making it difficult to trek and possibly flight cancelation from and to Lukla.
Hence, considering the weather, temperature, views, and ease of trek, Autumn and Spring season are the best seasons for a short Everest Base Camp Trek.
