After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel by our friendly rickshaw drivers, who have had decades of experience pulling these rickshaws across the city's narrow alleys. They are proficient at driving these small vehicles effortlessly on crowded streets.
We will begin with a ride around Thamel Indra Chowk, a busy tourist and trading hub where you will spot restaurants, painting stores, arts and crafts, and souvenir shops amidst ancient buildings. You will also witness small temples in the cross-section of the alleys.
The ride will be slow to medium pace so that you can get a clear view of the activities and the architectural buildings in the alleys of Thamel.
From Thamel, we slowly ride to Ason, a local market known best for shops ranging from food, clothing, ornaments, and more. Don’t be amazed if you see many vendors and locals huddled up in shops. Eventually, we will head out to Bhotahity, another popular marketplace, which is a pathway to the main street from Ason.
From the main streets, we will pass the Durbar Marg pathway and ride to the boulevard of Narayanhiti Path, the road to the Narayanhiti Museum, which was once the palace of the reigning Shah dynasty of Nepal.
Depending on your preference, we can stop at the Garden of Dreams. It is also known popularly as Garden of Six Seasons known for its beautiful neoclassical Edwardian style garden with ponds, pavilions, urns, and more.
After the brief stop, you will ride again in the rickshaw towards Kathmandu Durbar Square, a popular UNESCO world Heritage site in the city's heart. During the ride, the guide will share historical insights about the Malla regime palace, now turned into Hanuman Dhoka Museum, about the ancient temples and lifestyle.
