The best way to spend your short vacation is in the foothills of the Himalayas of Nepal by taking the Ghandruk Village and Australian Base Camp trek. The four-day trek offers views of some of the tallest mountains in the world through the high ridges of the Australian Base Camp. Moreover, it gives a unique experience of interacting with the harmonious ethnic groups in the villages along the rhododendron-clad trails.
The trek begins on the day you land in Pokhara from Kathmandu. After a short drive to Kimche, begin trekking towards the lovely village of Ghandruk, then the next day to Landruk settlement. On the third day, you reach the Australian Base Camp, after which the next day’s trek loops back to Kande. The refreshing tour concludes following a drive to Pokhara and then a flight to Kathmandu.

Welcome to the land of the Himalayas, Nepal. After arrival in Kathmandu, you will take a domestic flight to the city of lakes, Pokhara. After a 25-minute scenic flight, the towering Mt. Machhapuchhre will be seen from the city built alongside the enormous Phewa Lake in the widening of the Seti Gandaki valley.
Begin your trail leading to Kimche, a small hamlet northwest of Pokhara. Famous for the views of Mt. Machhapuchhre/Fishtail, Kimche is a first stop for the Annapurna Base Camp trek.
After lunch, you will start your trek to Ghandruk, following dense rhododendron forests and picturesque villages of the Lower Annapurna Region. In a short while, you will reach the Gurung village of Ghandruk, where you can witness amazing mountain views and visit the regional village museum.

After an early breakfast, another day’s trek begins in Landruk. Starting, take a steep descent through the scattered villages of Ghandruk. Follow a steep ascent towards the Modi Khola with beautiful views of the distant Himalayas en route. After a short break for lunch, you will continue on your way, passing streams and thick forests. Eventually, you will reach Landruk, a small Gurung village beside the Modi Khola. You will spend the rest of your day here.

Today will be an exciting trek to the popular Australian Camp, a lodging camp located north of Landruk. The trail is covered by rhododendron and oak treelines with beautiful mountains. The abundance of greenery is soothing to the heart and keeps you enthusiastic throughout the trip. The trail is challenging, with many ups and downs, but it is equally rewarding, considering the scenic views.
After reaching the Australian Camp, you can enjoy the panoramic views of The Annapurna massif, South Himchuli, and Lamjung Himal. Enjoy warm Nepali cuisine and your loved ones in one of the lodgings.

The sunrise view from the Australian Camp is magnificent, and the mountains appear golden on a clear day. After an amazing morning, you will pass through forests, suspension bridges, and paddy fields towards Kande, a departure point for numerous treks in the Pokhara region. There will be a vehicle waiting in Kande to accommodate you to Pokhara.
