Kathmandu Sightseeing with Nagarkot Sunrise - 3 days

After checking in at the hotel, you can freshen up and explore the city.

Starting from Thamel, you can enjoy the walk browsing through an ancient traditional Newari market of Ason, Indrachowk, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Basantapur. The Durbar Square is a meditative and religious site, surrounded by courtyards, ancient statues, temples, small ponds, and fountains. Also, if time allows, you can go to the sacred oldest Buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath temple. There are several shrines and monasteries on its premises. Besides, it lies on the top of a hill it offers alluring sights of the capital city, green hills, and mountains.

After short introductory sightseeing to Kathmandu Valley, today you'll proceed for sightseeing of two famous medieval Newari towns of Patan and Bhaktapur. This tour will be entertaining and pleasant as you connect with Nepal's history, art, architecture, local culture, and lifestyle.

Begin the Patan Durbar Square excursion in the Patan area, where you'll witness Lalitpur's artistic and architectural masterpieces, history, and culture. Patan is widely famous for woodcarving and metal crafts. In addition, there are several religious and historical monuments and temples, such as Krishna Mandir, The Golden Temple, and Bhimsen Temple, along with lovely Mul and Sundari chowk.

Likewise, you'll continue your sightseeing journey to Bhaktapur, where you will explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It is an ancient place with several monuments and temples representing the remarkable architecture of ancient times. There are incredible and unique monuments such as the 55-window palace, Taleju Bhawani Temple, Golden Gate, Bhairavnath Temple, and four distant squares: Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square, Dattatreya Square, and Pottery Square. 

After exploring Patan and Bhaktapur cities and their heritage site, you'll drive to the hilltop town of Nagarkot. Overseeing the beauty of green hills, valleys, and snow-capped mountains in the distance has lured Nagarkot Hill's prospect.

Overnight stay in Nagarkot. 

Wake up early in the morning and make your way to the top of Nagarkot hill to enjoy the scenery of the sun looming behind the mountain ranges. As the sun gradually rises, the golden rays scatter over the distant snow-capped peaks making it worth a glare. Behold the panoramic sunrise with the sweeping view of the Himalayan ranges. On a clear day, you'll see mountain peaks such as Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang, Numbur, Mahalangur, Jugal, and Rolwaling.

After enfolding in the soothing scenery of sunrise and mountains, you'll return to the hotel and feast on a fulfilling breakfast. Later you'll drive back to Kathmandu for your departure flight. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, a representative from Third Rock Adventures will drop you at the airport. You can enjoy last-minute souvenir shopping at Thamel if you get a few hours.
