You will begin this trip a little early to witness the sunrise view in Nagarkot. You will be picked up to depart by 4:30 AM, depending upon the season and time for sunrise. An hour and a half drive take you from Kathmandu to Nagarkot; along the way, you can start witnessing the greenery.
Nagarkot, at an altitude of 2,175m, is a city full of lushness and panoramic views of Mt.Everest towards the North-East and other mountain ranges like Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Manaslu, Number, Ganesh, and Annapurna. The scenery is especially splendid during the sunrise, which you will be able to witness as you climb the tower in Nagarkot. Following that, you will hike back and have your morning breakfast here.
Then you can prepare for the actual hike to Dhulikhel from Nagarkot.
The hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel is moderate, and it really lets you relax and enjoy the moment with beautiful landscapes on the horizon. The roads are usually earthen, and you can get amazing views of the Himalayan ranges. You will be passing through dense pine forests and even rhododendron trees, the national flower of Nepal.
Along the way, hike through the Nala Village, which is famous for its Khuwa made from evaporated milk, so be sure to buy it if you can.
