Record climber Kami Rita Sherpa broke her own record and climbed Mount Everest for the 27th time. According to Seven Summit Treks, Kami Rita successfully climbed Mount Everest for the 27th time at 8:30 am on Wednesday.
Kami Rita Sherpa, who was born in Thame of Solukhumbu in the year 1970, had previously climbed Mt. Everest for the 26th time on 7th May 2022. His climbing journey, which has climbed the world's highest snow peak for more than 2 decades, started in 1992.
He has climbed mountains including Mount Everest, the second-highest mountain in the world, Ke To, Choyu, Lhotse and Makalu.
Kami Rita climbed Mt Everest twice in 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2019. After him, Padawa Sherpa, a resident of his district, is the second-highest mountain climber in the world. Also known as Pasang Dawa, he has reached the peak of Mount Everest 26 times. He equaled Kami Rita's record only a few days ago.
