I had attempted Mera and Island Peak a few years ago and I thought climbing Ama Dablam would be great. It is physically challenging but the sense of accomplishment is beyond words. Comparing Ama Dablam with Mera or Island, I found Ama Dablam a bit challenging and grueling. But as always, your climbing leader plays the role for successful climbing, you've to listen to him. For about 13 days, you will be climbing and descending back to the base camp. I had hard time at the camp 2.7 but it was worth it. The technical part always excites me. If you want to climb this peak, make sure the company and the guide specially, need to be highly experienced just like Third Rock Adventures.
