Best Time To Do Nepal-Bhutan Tour

Nepal Bhutan Tour can be done any time in the year, but the best time to visit Bhutan is peak season during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).

Spring Season (March to May)

In Nepal, the spring season is the peak time to travel here. The weather is mild with a clear blue sky and sunny days. It is one of the best time to visit Bhutan for a stunning view of the mountains and the landscape. There are less chances of rain with temperatures ranging from 20 degrees in the south and 10-12 degrees in the north. During spring, you can celebrate festivals such as Holi, where you play with different colors; Bisket Jatra; Buddha Jayanti and many more.

In Bhutan, the sky is clear and bright with less chances of rain until June. You can see the valley covered with newly bloomed flowers and green grass. The temperature goes to 8-10 degrees in the northern side, whereas it is 20-21 degrees in the south. Witness the celebration of Ura Yakchoe, where a traditional dance is performed.

Summer Season (June- August)

It is a monsoon season in Nepal that brings heavy rain and makes your journey difficult with wet and slippery roads. The visibility of the mountains is low because of the clouds. However, you can do plenty more activities in the Terai region like canoeing, rafting, kayaking and so on. You can visit the Chitwan National Park to encounter rare flora and fauna. Autumn (September to November)

It is also a great time to visit the Terai region to explore the wildlife and other attractions. The temperature is 8-12 degrees in the north and 20 in the south. In Bhutan, it is the peak time for Bhutanese tourism. However, you won’t see crowded areas because of the strict entry policy. The weather is warm with temperatures ranging from 4-12 degrees in the north and 22 degrees in the south. In this season, celebrate Thimphu Festival (Tsechu), Paro Tsechnu, Trashigang Tsechu, Matsutake Festival.

Winter (December- February)

In Nepal, the city becomes less crowded and people can visit the areas and observe the landscape and cultural sites more peacefully. You can visit Nepal's lowland such as the temples in Kathmandu Valley, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, Lumbini and explore the wildlife in Chitwan National Park. In Bhutan, you can enjoy the snow covered land which makes it mesmerizing to watch. The roads are blocked due to heavy snow. However, it is great to visit the western Dzongkhags, around Thimphu, Paro, Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang. You can also encounter the rare black-necked cranes that migrate to the warmer area of Gangtey valley. The temperature goes to 3-4 degrees in the day.
