In the first month of Nepali New Year 2080, the highest number of tourists was from Israel visited Manang. Israeli tourists visited the Annapurna trail, which ranks 10th among the dangerous trails in the world.
Tamkashi Gurung of the Annapurna Area Conservation Area Project (ACAP) informed that the highest number of Israeli citizens visited the district in the first month of the year. According to him, 551 Israeli citizens visited Manang in the statistics.
Similarly, 349 citizens of France have visited. Citizens of 73 countries visited Manang, including 332 Russians, 202 United Kingdom-US, 195 United States (US), 177 German, 173 Australian, 129 Indian, and 129 Netherlands. Lekhnath Gautam, head of the Annapurna Area Conservation Area Project (ACAP), informed. According to him, a total of 3,289 citizens from 73 countries including 1,930 men, 1,358 women and one other person visited Manang in Baisakh alone.
Tourists from around the world continue to come to Nepal due to the ease of life after the spread of Covid-19. While entering Nepal, citizens of different countries, especially in Manang, have taken part in the Annapurna Trail. In the past, even one of Manang's risk spots used to be a problem for tourists visiting. Gautam said that since the rainy season has started now, they are sending information about possible risks while traveling on the footpath.
Hotel and tourism businessmen of Manang are happy after the increase in the number of tourists. Vinod Gurung, a tourism businessman, said that with the increase in the number of tourists in Manang, it was possible to get a hotel just some time ago. With the increase in tourists, the income level of Manang also increases.
Tourists come to see Himalayas, mountain views, culture of Manang people, natural beauty, pass Thorangla from Manang to Mustang and some tourists come to Annapurna trail to go to Pokhara. The entrance to the Annapurna footpath is at Manange Chautara in Lamjung Bensisahar Municipality-7. Five districts including Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi and Kaski are connected to the Annapurna trail. Tourists come by vehicle from Kathmandu to Benissahar.
