Rishi Ram Bhantana is one of our senior trekking leaders with more than 20 years of experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. He has successfully led hundreds of trekking groups in the popular trekking routes of Nepal. Admittedly, he is one of the favorite trekking guides of many clients and is popularly known as Rishi among international trekkers. He has also guided pilgrims to Damodar Kunda, Janakpur, Lumbini, Muktinath, Gosaikunda Lake, and Lake Mansarovar. As an astute and experienced trekking leader, he has garnered immense positive feedback and reviews. His friendly demeanor and bright smile are praiseworthy.
Born and brought up in the Gorkha district, traversing rugged trails and climbing hills carrying considerable weight was the daily grind for Rishi. He would joyfully cover several kilometers every day and explore the trails with great interest. His undying passion for travel escalated with time, and nothing changed in the ensuing years. He joined the travel industry as a porter and introduced himself to the tourism arena. Over the years, Rishi honed his communication skills, organization skills, and storytelling ability and established himself as an enthusiastic trekking guide. It was in 1998 that he officially started working as a trekking guide. And today, after 2 decades, Rishi is undoubtedly a notable and acclaimed trekking guide.
In a career spanning more than two decades, Rishi has trekked hundreds of times in the popular trekking routes of Nepal. He has successfully led trekking groups, from a small group to a large group of 43 trekkers. His significant achievement includes trekking to the Everest region over 200 times, the Annapurna region over 100 times, and the Langtang region more than 100 times. Additionally, Rishi has also trekked to the Mustang region, Manaslu region, and Dolpo region. His list of achievements also includes Everest Base Camp from Tibet. Beyond Nepal, Rishi also leads groups to Mount Kailash of Tibet. He has accompanied hundreds of trekkers from the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Australia, Spain, New Zealand, and several others.
He is a certified trekking guide from the Government of Nepal. He is trained personnel in 'Intensive Wilderness First Aid Training' from Kathmandu Environmental Educational Project (KEEP) in association with Nepal Tourism Board. He completed 'High Altitude Risk and Leadership Training' in 2015 and participated in 'First Aid Training' conducted by CIWEC Hospital in 2019. Furthermore, he has also completed several significant training including English Language Course, First Aid Training, Photography Training, and skill development training programs.
His vast field knowledge and decades of experience make him a certified expert in trekking in Nepal. The safety of clients is his utmost priority, and his prudence is indeed an admirable quality.
